The story is an AU - Alternative Universe as the story will not follow how the well known characters is made in their original stories. I have brought together two of my favourite books since I thought that they would work together. Though I have change things to fit together, which then has my own things in it.
I also decided to write the story in short parts as that would make it easier for me.
Fandom: LOTR/M&R (Swedish book)
Paring: Legolas, OFC - Robin
Summary: Robin falls one day into Middle Earth, where she meets and become friends with an elf that appear to be the opposite sex to what yourself is. The gate between the worlds is open because there are some evil creatures that try it’s best to take over. The hope stands to Robin.

This is one of my older stories, that I still try to finish.

Paring: Orlando Bloom, OFC, with appearance of Dominic and Billy and some others Original characters
Summary: The story is about Camilla/Sofie that after an opportunity can visit London after several years. She is there on an assignment and also to meet some new friends. The destiny wants something more when she met an old friend and has to confront things that have come from a surgery she done a few years back. The thing is that she hasn't any memory of the old friend or what sort of relationship they might have. Only that she lately has seen him in some films.

I decided to try to post my stories here. The problem right now I'm to lazy to put up all those I have on my home page so if I spam you today and the coming days (when I have time) with entries I'm sorry. Instead to do them all to long I will put up a summary and the links to my homepage.
I will probably not make links back and forth, or would some sneak in they will probably go to one of my livejournal's (in further chapters). If you will search for any later and don't remember exactly - try my tag's, I will try to remember to tag everyone.
I love to write so there will be so I continue to write... but as any authors I love to get feedback or even a hi, picture or something that tell me someone have been and read the story. It's of course up to you. If you don't know me... I want to tell you that I write in a second language, so there is errors and mistakes. I do have let my stories be checked by English speaking people. Some more than once, so I do hope they is better than my first draft. I do not post stories before they are betad, if they not is in the Punk-series, posted at livejournal ss_sanctuary or left as a comment to livejournal comment_fic.
To one degree I like to learn what works and not, but it would be constructive and no flaming, please. Would you think it so bad... please do not comment at all and you do have the option to stop reading.
I will not repeat this...

Okay I decided to end the poll I made x days ago. I will thank everyone that said anything....
Lucky me to have done it in Livejournal and had some votes there.
For the story I had in mind it became so that the town/city will be called Springside. Next thing I really need to decided to what to call the story, but as it loooooooooooong way from even finshed to start be posted it not in a hurry and I beleive I will come on one.

I don't know if I shall be pissed on myself or not. I hate that I can't spell, use the grammar perfectly in English and even my own language Swedish. There is always words that sneak in that has been misspelled. I hate to have problem with it. It slow me down. And I have learned again and again that I put myself into problem. Of course it would help if I used the spell check better, but who isn't lazy or in a hurry?
Think if there had been a medication that could have cured it! But all I know is that I need to think or look not only twice than ... plenty to get it right. And I hate when things take time.
There is words that is easy to mix, drop letters in and when that happens it give another meaning. When that happen it is embarrassing as it more likley tell others that I'm not so good.
I do try to train me to get better with not give up to write and try to remember to check things before I post it, but it do slip sometime.
Would anyone knew a good cure.... please let me know.

We have to see how much it will go. At least I did change the look of the journal some, when I was not that satisfied by the previous look.

The post made me to want to first reply and then it would be interesting to hear my friends thoughts. I will number the questions and you can answer those you feel for or all. Eventually comment from the original post I taken away and put in my thoughts/answers.
1. Who here is guilty of having an Abandoned WIP folder on their PC?
Who hasn't? I have several stories that isn't finished… a few of them more or less abandoned
2. How do writers feel about having given up on a story?
I think I will not give up any of my started stories… though there is actually a few that needs to be seen as abandoned when they more is forgotten or I have no urge/inspiration/feeling for finish them. It is also probably so that the idea I had first is weak or too many others has done anything similarly.
3. Do you feel sad, guilty, embarrassed or silly?
It depends on what sort of story it was… If I have written more than three-four pages I feel sad, if it is longer and I might have posted/showed it for anyone (maybe have a reader) I feel guilty.
4. Do you lay low for a while and hope everyone forgets the story?
I will think I don't run from it, as I try to believe that I at one time will get back to the story and finished it. I feel that I can't force myself to write the story and hope that the reader will understand that and can wait for it to get completed. I do have a few very old stories that need a conclusion and I haven't touched them in years, though I still hold my hope I will go back and do it one day…
5. How do readers feel about being left hanging in mid-plot? Do you get frustrated, angry, sad or do you just shrug it off and find another story?
As more I have read and been in the fan fic universe I get very frustrated if the stories isn't finished and does not look like it to be. In the beginning I read all I came over, today I try to avoid or wait until I knew the story is complete… or I knew that the author very likely will complete it. Not that I sometimes can start to read a story anyway. If I stumble over one I really like I try to let author know it is read and I would want to see more of it.
6. As a writer, what made you give up?
It is very few stories I actually have totally give up hope on. If I have any they most likely haven't been publish anytime or anywhere. If I have posted a story somewhere and it still isn't finished I hold a hope to that one day I will finish it. Sure some reason it isn't written in a long time on a story can be I lost interest, found a new fandom, I have hard to get anyone beta it for me…
I still try to think that I will finish it sometimes.
7. As a reader, which WIPs do you remember most and really wish had been completed?
I have a fewseveral that I would so much see completed…
* trishaboom's No Easy Way – One among the very first stories I come over the first year I found at Internet when I learned there where something called fan fiction.
* Kiriana's Running scared – One of the Real People stories with Orlando that I for the very longest time I waiting for to learn what will happen. This is also from the beginning of my reading in Orlando fandom.
* piximyr's Do you really love me – There is only a few chapters, but it intrigued me enough and I would be happy to get more of it.

8. Again, as a writer, could you ever be tempted to get back to the WIP and finish it?
As I think of mine that I will do it one day there is always the opportunity.
9. What would help you do that? A new muse? A new beta-reader (or even a support group of them) offering to devote themselves to getting a particular WIP finished?
I would love to get comments, encouragement, wishes for it to be finished. If I haven't a beta reader for just that story I would love to get help with it. A support group would be even greater if you could talk about things… In some way know there is some interesting to learn how it will go.
10. Again, as a reader, would you volunteer to assist a writer in getting a particular WIP to completion?
Yeah, especially if I really like the story and know the fandom.
11. (This comes from the original poster) Would anyone here think it a worthwhile project to get a community going in which writers submit details of their WIP(s) and others offer their advice or services to get them finished? It seems a good way of matching up people from both sides of a story, with a shared goal - to get the WIP finished.
There could very well be a good thing to have a community like it…
I've been left hanging in a few really good stories and wondered if something (other than pleading) could have contributed to them being finished.
Thoughts?
For the stories that really looks like they never would be finished and also where I a few times has tried to ask, email or comment if the author is thinking to continue it I have got the thoughts that maybe if I hadn't had so many wip myself I could write my ending… so maybe a place where you could pick up a story could be a thing, like a sort of challenge.

It wasn't much with him any more. He lost everything, his love, their child, everything to live for. They had even taken his money, at least most of them and what was left barley helped him the day to day life.
All he could do was to went back to much happier times in his mind. Though he knew the memories would never make up what he lost and save him. He just wanted to join those he missed, those that been the sun in his life.
Every day he wished it would be the last. Last day of the heartache he come to have. Nothing around him could make him to live. Not alone. Not so hurt. Not any more.
Please let me to get together with my love ones. It was his litania, in between his memories.

You could almost think I forgot this journal.... I haven't but it hasn't been that I have given it time to update here. One reason is that I still use Livejournal and will continue that when most of my friends still is there.
What I do have decided is that I will use this to put up all unbetad stories here. It would be a saftey if my computer decided to mess with me before I have had the chance to burn a cd.

Prompt: footprints in the snow
Small footstep was waking him up and soon followed by "Daddy, daddy, Papa, papa!"
He open his eyes and was meet by a very eager child, clearly had something to tell or maybe show.
"What is it love?"
"Come! You have to look."
"What is it you have to show?" he asked, as he went out from the bed. He picked up a t-shirt to keep some of the beds warmth.
His child took hold of his hand and dragged him through the corridor to the kitchen and the door that opened to their patio. The child eagerly pointed through the window.
"Daddy, can Santa have made those?"
"As it is Christmas Day it very well can be Santa that made those footprints in the snow. Shall we go and look in the living room?"
"Yes! Presents! I want to see!" the chid shouted and ran to the other room.
He went in a slow pace, knowing there would be presents under their Christmas tree.

Yep I'm here, but just only to let you knew that I mostly is posting in old Livejournal. Especially when I taking part of mini_nanowrimo there. Their I was able to committed to a amount of words that I believe I cold managed to write everyday. For the big one I would needed to write closer to 2000 words a day to hit the goal, which I feel that I still isn't that good at yet. The minimum you could commit to was 100, but that I thought will be all to easy so I decided to my goal to be a minimum of 250/day. So far succeeded. I've used it to write on a few different stories to get them going. That was another thing you could do - not keep to just one. One day/year I do hope to be able to do the big thing.
Telling you this... mean of course I will probably not post much here.... for yet a time.
Ps is it anything you posted here that you really, really think I should read please comment with a link....

I knew it is days since I left anything here, especially write anything.
Things is that I really have take a break from Internet. It sort of come when I did start to get problem with my laptop, my birthday and that I still was waiting for things to happen in some places. I can say that you wont see that much from me yet for sometime.
Before I really go into what taken place around me I have a question to my Orlando friends. I send this to one of my yahoo groups a few days ago and still there isn't any replies, so maybe I have better luck here...
I might have asked about it before but missed to write it down to easy to find it...
What is the full name of the agent and publicist that Orlando has?
If I remember for a few years he had someone called Robin around him is she still one of the team? What was her last name?
I come to need this for a story...
Asked that... so what have I really been up to?
When the laptop is not behaving I haven't worked much on it. I've been to the library and also used the computer at my work. I have planned for two weeks to go and et it fixed, but somehow pushed it forward. Though I really need to do it and hope they can fix it.

When I've not been working, I have of course not been sitting still. I have worked on my handicraft. There is a few things that I finished, mostly small cross-stitches. I have looked through my things I have been buying through the years and I have so many to do. I would not need to buy new things and still be able to do things for years. That is so typical of me... when I see something I do like or get hooked on I tend to buy to much and not finish it before I got eyes on something else. I really would need to get what I have done.
